Safeguarding
St John's, Kingston Park is committed to safeguarding all of those who are part of our church community and those people in the community that we support as a church.
What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is about promoting a safe culture for every child, young person and vulnerable adult who is part of our church or that we support in the community as a church.

Commitments
We will safely recruit and support all of those with responsibility related to children and vulnerable adults.
We will respond promptly to any safeguarding concerns.
We will care pastorally for victims and survivors of abuse.
We will care pastorally for those who have been the subject of concerns or allegations of abuse, putting in place boundaries where needed.
We will respond to those who may pose a present risk to others by ensuring safeguards are in place to protect our community.
Reporting safeguarding concerns
If someone is in immediate danger or needs urgent medical attention, call 999.
If it is not an emergency then contact the Safeguarding Officer, Tim Rogers, or speak to one of the leaders of the church. Contact Tim by email on safeguarding@stjohnskingstonpark.org or speak to him on 01912851934.
If you have any concerns about a child, young person or adult, please act on that as a matter of priority.
Reports of children, young people and vulnerable adults at risk of abuse or neglect will always be acted on and taken seriously.
Wider church concerns
For matters of wider concern, including reporting historical abuse and finding support, further information can be found here on the Diocese of Newcastle site or here on the national Church of England site.
